In 2013 I saw David Hockney: A Bigger Exhibition, at the de Young museum in San Francisco. His enormous, gorgeous, and vibrating landscapes, done on an ipad, opened my eyes to digital art. Most of all, I was struck by the joy and optimism he expressed while embracing a new medium. There was so much freedom. I was transported. It taught me an important lesson, and I began to question my personal biases in art. Now I like to draw what I feel like drawing on my ipad in upstate New York, and no longer worry if I’m doing it “right”, or feel guilty for doing it “wrong”. I just keep drawing and indulge my passion for garish colors.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
